(Aimpoint PRO)

MP5A3 NAVY RIGHT.jpg

The MP5, developed by the West German manufacturer Heckler & Koch (H&K) in the 1960s, has been in service for over half a century and is ubiquitous with many special forces around the World as well as showcased in numerous action movies. See LINK. The acronym “MP” stands for Machinenpistole, which is German for machine pistol or submachine gun.

This airsoft gun is a replica of the H&K MP5 Navy variant of the legendary submachine gun developed at the request of the US Navy for maritime operations.

This MP5 replica has 5 interesting features.

1) The retractable buttstock which defines gun as the A3 variant of the MP5 family. This buttstock is the A3 F version which allows for sliding the stock to achieve a custom length for the user. The butt-pad is reinforced with thicker rubber for improved protection.

2) The Surefire 628 integrated light forend was first introduced in late 1980s and widely popularized by special military units and SWAT teams throughout the 1990s. The Surefire 628 is considered the most iconic accessory ever made for H&K MP5.

This example of Surefire 628 is an early “old-school” legacy version featuring a smooth/lightly textured polymer body with just a momentary-on pressure tape switch on the right side. The light is a vintage incandescent (xenon) bulb (Surefire P60) powered by two CR123A batteries in a two-cell battery housing.

3) The “Navy” Trigger Group on the pistol grip is colour-coded with bullet pictograms (Safe, Semi-Automatic, Burst (2-3 rounds) and Full-Automatic).

4) The Barrel tip is threaded (not 3 Lug) enabling the quick attachment of a sound suppressor.

5) The Aimpoint PRO (Patrol Rifle Optic) is a legendary red dot reflex sight built with military-grade durability and “always-on” reliability driven by the Swedish manufacturer’s proprietary ACET circuit design that drastically reduces the power consumption of LED red dot sight which can be left on continuously for over three years.
